SPACELIFT T.O.C. (TOWER ON CRAWLERS)

This design is a "universal first"and the configuration makes it a Multi Functional type which performs is most cases better, more efficient and most of all safer.

The crane is of the top slewing type the turntable and operator's cab is fitted on top of the tower, as result there is no tail swing at the worksite.

The tower is mounted on a heavy crawler undercarrier. That makes the center of gravity so low, that the crane can be driven while carrying the load, even allowing a 5º angle of tilt (11%).

The crawler undercarrier is driven by a 320HP diesel engine through a Caterpillar power shift transmission, which drives both crawlers.
This type of drive was specifically chosen so that no power was lost and there was no risk of losing oil (no hydraulic hoses).

The crawlers are built so wide to keep ground pressure below 1 kg/cm²
under normal operating conditions < 0,75 kg/cm².

Until now towercranes with the topswing were only available on rails or in fixed positions. Fitting the tower on crawlers is unique and offers only advantages. The crane is not tied to one place and due to the top swing it can be used in places which were up to now inaccessible.

It needs no argument that this type of crane will work safer and more efficient than other types of cranes such as crawler cranes with luffing jibs and/or cranes on a truck-chassis with outriggers or a counterweight and their tail swing.

The crane can be controlled by the operator from either the lower cab, the upper cab or the remote control. Thus giving the operator full view of the place of work.

The upper can be driven from a generatorset or from a local electricity source.

All test by Aboma + Keboma were with a 25% overload, traveling with load on rough terrain including the listing of 5º.

Everyone was unanimous about the excellent stability and agreed that this is a real multi functional crane.

· Similar capacities to crawler cranes in the 125-250 ton range
· Total weight of operational machine is 150 tons
· Lifting height up to 40 meters
· Radius is 43 meters maximum
· Lifting capacity 16 ton
